Congregational Excellence

  • Texas Conference Center for Congregational Excellence Connects and equips local congregations and new church start leaders with tools and resources for congregational revitalization, transformation, and vitality in communities they serve.
  • General Board of Discipleship connects leaders with needed resourcing, training, consulting, and networking that support spiritual formation, new church development, and revitalization of local churches.
  • Certified Lay Minister A Certified Lay Minister (CLM) is a qualified United Methodist layperson called to congregational leadership as part of a ministry team under the supervision a clergyperson, but who often serves the church in many other ways.
  • Lay Servant Ministries is the new designation for what was known as Lay Speakers, now broadened to provide training for the many roles of laity in congregations.
  • BeADisciple studies, workshops, and courses are conducted in small-groups with a trained facilitator or a certified instructor. Groups begin together, progress through materials, and end together.
  • Cokesbury provides quality resources and services that help people know God through Jesus Christ, love God, and choose to serve God and neighbor.
  • Church Training is available live, online and or through do-it-yourself opportunities to help you gain the knowledge and skills you need to be an effective church leader.
  • Safe Sanctuaries is an overt expression of a congregation in making a congregation a safe place where children and youth may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith.
